Some Thoughts About the Universe

Here's a few thoughts I have on why the universe is expanding.

The expansion of the universe is directly related to the Big Bang.

When the Big Bang occurred, there was a whole bunch of energy, and the expanding is the universe coasting outwards from all this energy. (Think of a very condensed ball of heat that once "explodes" starts to travel across the universe)... But wouldn't this energy eventually come to a stop? Well no Dark Energy is actually causing the universe to speed up in its expansion and accelerate. The force of Dark Energy is accelerating the expansion happening due to the leftover energy from the start of the universe.

We don't know too much about this dark energy... we can only see the effect it has on the universe (aka. red shift)
